About Me

I am an Assistant Professor at Department of Information Science and Technology (IST), School of Computing, at George Mason University. I am also a Research Fellow at the Center for Secure Information Systems (CSIS) at George Mason University, Fairfax, VA, USA.

My research lies at the intersection of applied AI and operational cyber security including the security of Internet of Things (IoT), Operational Technologies (OT), and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS). My current research interests include: (1) Securing the EV charging ecosystem (NSF Award #2431617), (2) IoT/OT malware classification and family attribution, and (3) Adversarial AI/ML.

Prior Experiences

Before joining the IST department, I was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the CSIS where I worked under the supervision of Prof. Kun Sun. Prior to joining George Mason University,

I completed the Ph.D. degree in Information Systems Engineering from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada. I also received the M.Sc. degree from the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, University of British Columbia (UBC), Vancouver, BC, Canada, in 2016, and the B.Sc./M.Sc. degrees (with Distinction) from the Computer Engineering Department, Kuwait University (KU), Kuwait, in 2005 and 2009, respectively.
